Offtopic: Maybelline Baby Lips Swatches & Review

12 Dec

(Quenched — clear, Peach Kiss — sheer nude, Peppermint — clear, Cherry Me — sheer red, Pink Punch — sheer barbie pink)

Hey guys, another off topic post here! I was sent some Maybelline products from BzzAgent to test out and I decided to put my review here.

The new product they lauched not too long ago is called “Baby Lips” and they’re tinted lip balms that are fruity flavored (with the exception of one minty flavored one!).

Swatches!

These are pretty nicely pigmented, but I don’t think they do a very good job at moisturizing. I still prefer my pomegranate¬†oil Burt’s Bees lip balm– it’s just that the Maybelline ones seem to dry out my lips when it wears off. They are affordable and it’s a good way to experiment with lip colors since you can layer on the color… but if you’re looking for quality I think you should look elsewhere.

So it dries out your lips? I read another review on another blog that said the exact same thing.

I really was looking forward to buying this product. Maybelle made it look so nice.

Do you recommend if chapstick is worn underneath. Would it make the lips less dry? Then again that would defeat the whole purpose of the lip balm. ERRR

I really wanted to try this product =(

it dried out my lips when i used it :( i have yet to try it with a different chapstick under! but that sounds like a good idea :) like while you’re wearing it it doesn’t appear to dry out your lips– only when it starts to wear off.
i agree, it totally defeats the purpose of being a lip balm! but i think there are many lip balms out there that do this (moisturize while its on, leave your lips drier than before when its wiped off!)
it doesn’t ruin your lips or anything, but it doesn’t help either IMHO!

I have it in Cherry me and peppermint, and I adore these! I’ve only had these for about a week now, but I think that they did improve the state of my lips. They’re not chapped anymore!! I just love the tint Cherry Me gives.

I find it to be one of the best moisturizers I’ve yet tried. It contains no wax or petroleum, both of which can really dry out your lips. I’ve tried many products by now and this is one of the better ones – the tint is a bonus, but it’s the moisturizer that is the reason to buy this .
