Also! My local H&M in west LA had a sale on accessories this weekend (extra 50% off all accessories!)
I grabbed 3 pairs of flats for $2.00 each. They’re pretty comfortable and great for some DIY projects!
I painted clouds on one pair last night with white acrylic paint. The bows were removed and replaced with gold paper fasteners.
I also have one pair of hot pink patent flats! I’m not sure how I want to customize these. Any ideas?
Oh, and here’s my other project! Customizing the McDonald Despicable Me 2 toys!
The fire alarm minion that yells “Bee-do Bee-do!”
I recently tried out the online thrift site Like Twice!
I bought this Urban Outfitters skirt for $5.56 (postage included!) since I had a $10.00 off coupon (see the end of this post if you’re interested in the coupon!). The skirt arrived within a week and all the measurements and descriptions were accurate.
I’m very pleased with my purchase though! The skirt was practically brand new! The items that are accepted at Like Twice are carefully inspected to be in new to like new condition.
I’d like to invite you all to sign up for Like Twice through my link HERE. You will receive $10.00 off your first purchase! Shipping is a flat $5.00.
I believe you can sell your gently used clothing at Like Twice as well (although I’ve never tried it).
Have any of you every purchased from Like Twice?

Orly – Space Cadet
Sometimes purple… or green! or red! Depending on how the light hits the lacquer.
This is one of my favorites but the dry time takes a while. 3-4 coats, ~ 1 hour for my nails to fully dry.
cosmetic ARTS nail polish…. there are no names on my bottles ;_;
milani – gold
I was sent some sugar scrub samples from Island Breeze a while back and have been using this stuff for 2 months.
So far, no allergies and my skin has been silky smooth. Which is great because my feet have suffered a lot of damage from summer flip-flop wearing!
The only con that I can see with this product is that you have to buy it in bulk… which means shelling out like $30-50.
They mainly target salons, so unless you want to share your scrubs with a friend or repackage them as stocking stuffers (which is a really cute idea!) I don’t know how many of you guys would be interested in this product.
^ I’ve been moving them to empty Olay moisturizer jars for easier storage.
The scents are great though!
My rankings for the scents (they all smell like delicious candy!):
1) Pomberry! <3
2) Wild Watermelon
3) Mango Papaya
4) Lemon zest
5) Fresh Pear
6) Cool Mint
I’ve been finding these great vintage hardcovers at estate sales + Goodwill for around $3.00 each!
Hollowed out with an X-acto blade and….
Ta-da! Book boxes for small treasures.
And my most recent project….
Glued on some findings…
Ripped out all the pages and glued in….
Fabric lining! Added some velcro so that it would shut. In retrospect, I probably should have sewed a flap so things don’t fall out… It took forever to finish sewing the inside! @.@ I really need to invest in a sewing machine…
Lastly, here’s my mini garden:
Basil, Marjaram, Dill, Green Onion and Cilantro! We’re currently experiencing a heat wave here in Los Angeles… I hope my basil enjoy the sunshine! I didn’t photograph all of my basil pots but I accidentally grew too many (count: 20)! Those seeds are just so small. Oh well. More pesto for me!
Dill, Marjaram, Basil (to be transported soon!)
More basil. I need more containers!
