    (Hello, I am an advocate from California who is working on getting manufacturers to use safer chemicals in the nail products they produce. I would love it if you can post about this announcement for a new ordinance in San Francisco that would be a step toward this ultimate goal. We are kicking off a new campaign with a nail polish party where you can come get your manicure done for FREE tomorrow. If you have any additional questions/comments/concerns, please email me at any time. Pasted below is the message for the general public, thank you!)

    Join us for a “GREEN” NAIL POLISH PARTY and enjoy a FREE MANICURE on us!
    Environment California, Asian Law Caucus, and the California Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative are kicking off their “Toxic Trio Free Polish” campaign with a nail polish party at the International College of Cosmetology, 1224 Polk Street, on July 20 at 12:00 p.m.
    That same afternoon at City Hall at 2 p.m., Supervisor David Chiu will introduce an ordinance that will encourage San Francisco nail salons to use only nail polish without three especially toxic chemicals.
    Many nail polishes contain the so-called “Toxic Trio:” formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate and toluene. They are associated with cancer, birth defects, asthma and other chronic diseases. Nail salon workers are exposed to these chemicals regularly.
    There are many companies that have removed these chemicals from their products, but some polishes still contain the toxic trio. Toxic trio free nail polishes look just as good and last just as long. San Franciscans, including Supervisor Chiu, will be getting manicures with non-toxic polish.
    This is “green chemistry” at work … companies using sustainable principles to make their products safer from the start.

    Hi Jasmine! ^^ I love your site! You’re an endless source of inspiration to me whenever I want to be daring with my nails! I’m always stuck doing boring – one shade colors. hehe. ^^;;

    If you don’t mind me asking, I was wondering where you purchased your tips/nails and glues? And nail art decos could be found where – at any regular art store?

    Thanks so much and keep being awesome! ❤

    Bisous, from Montreal!

      hi katt,
      i’m glad you like my blog!
      i buy my fake nails from ebay in bulk (500). i don’t use then on my hands though, only for tutorial purposes so i do not purchase glues.
      nail art decos can be found on ebay or in asian shops 🙂 i believe sally’s beauty supply also carries them.
      thanks!

    Hi, very glad that I came across your blog. Absolutely love your nail art… they’re DIY and not overtly technical (shhhh, i cannot draw or paint, not even with my right hand…)

    Enjoy looking at your designs, cheers!!
